Let’s Celebrate

“Owwwwww, I just ripped a tendon in my shoulder!!!” I finally ran into a fellow klutz! Literally…?

This past week we stayed at the Shutt’s near Mansfield, Ohio. Their oldest daughter, Emma, is my age and we share a lot of the same tendencies. Like walking into door frames, injuring ourselves all the time… Stuff like that. Thankfully we never injure ourselves too badly – but that’s not going to stop us from being dramatic…?

You can remove us from Canada but you can’t remove the Canada from us. We spent Canada Day in the USA, but thankfully we were with fellow Canadians (Cara is originally from Saskatchewan!!!) so it wasn’t too bad…? We stuck on tattoos, wore red shirts, sang O’Canada, and told everyone Happy Canada Day!

To celebrate Canada Day we all got tattoos!!! The non-painful, stick on kind!!!? We even all wore red when we went out that afternoon!

The carousel in the center of town was so much fun!

Blurry photo but it looks pretty sick so…? Emma and I rode the ostriches, the rabbits, and finally, the horses! I definitely felt like a kid, waiting in line stressing that I might not get on an animal that moved up and down…?

That night we went to the Balloon Festival. It was beautiful!!!?  The hot air balloons didn’t fly  anywhere but they would light up to the beat of a song, or light up in general.

Canada day requires glow sticks – of course!!!!

They all looked so cool you really couldn’t pick just one favourite, but one of mine would have to be the patchwork one on the far left.

The next night we went to a racetrack to watch some fireworks. It was super cool! They even lit off huge fireball thingys – scary but awesome!!!!!!!

On Monday we went to a friends pool to escape the heat!

On July 4th we went into town to watch the parade! We were, sadly, close to the end of the parade, so we didn’t get very much candy, but the parade was really good! This caboose looking thing had a little cannon on the back that they would fire off randomly. It was so loud, and made me jump EVERY time! There were also a lot of baton twirlers. I felt bad for one girl who threw her baton up in the air so that she could do a flip and catch it again. Except her baton hit a tree. And she tripped. Oops…?

That afternoon we went to Mohican State Park and climbed the fire tower. Imagine being the fire warden who had to climb those stairs everyday – you would have really nice legs…?

The view wasn’t much more than a lot of trees – the trees we would soon be hiking through. Thankfully we didn’t see any smoke. Just a few smokin’ hot people! ?

Cool covered bridge we drove across to and from the hike!

The Big Lyons Falls were some of the smallest falls I’ve ever been to… high, but hardly any water. And there was even more water flowing than usual because it had rained recently! The cool shower it provided made it worth the hike though!

This is a totally random picture of a mushroom, but it looks super cool so… This is a mushroom we saw on our hike! ?:Mom

After our 2.4 mile hike we waded in the river and had a brownie from the pan Uncle Mark brought to bribe us not to complain – if we complained we wouldn’t get a brownie… Best hike ever!!!!!?

Mom got the photo timing perfect as we waved goodbye to our awesome friends! Thank you SO much for everything!!!! Can’t wait to run into guys again and again over the next month or so!!!!!!!!!

They sent us away with a goody bag!? Is that not the sweetest thing (pun intended…?)?

Our time at Mark and Cara’s was SO much fun; the late nights, the relaxing days, oh, and injuring ourselves all day long…?
